I’ve often thought about the difficulty of obtaining a motorcycle licence if Wheelchair Accessible vehicles are “Big Bikes”.
Fortunately most states in Australia allow Learner Approved Motorcycles to be below 650cc. For this reason a RIDAN Nippi is small enough to get licenced and large enough to safely carry the weight of wheelchair and rider.
The original version was the RIDAN Nippi 300 and the more recent version is the RIDAN Nippi 650, based on the Suzuki Burgmann 650 motor scooter. The 650 is a twin cylinder, 4-stroke, liquid cooled scooter with selectable automatic transmission.
These custom made, road going trikes provide an unprecedented level of freedom and independence for people in wheelchairs, making transport accessible, easy and enjoyable.
Let’s face the facts. An under-powered motorcycle can be unsafe while riding and overtaking on the open road. Feel the power of a 650 and go riding with your mates without feeling left behind.
